Carers

Are you a Carer?

Carers can be any age but they all need help and support!

A Carer is someone who provides unpaid, often intensive support to family or friends who could not manage without that support. They could be caring for someone who is ill, frail, disabled, or has mental health or substance misuse problems.

Anyone can be a Carer regardless of age circumstances or background and a person’s caring role can sometimes last for decades. Sometimes people care for more than one person or often have a disability or are in poor health themselves. Some carers even have a paid job alongside their caring role.

The bottom line is Carers need help and support and this is available!

I Am A Carer, What Can I Do? Tell us! If we know, we can help!

If you are a Carer, please tell us today!

We will then:

  • Add information about your caring role to your patient record
  • Invite you for your free annual seasonal flu vaccination
  • Contact you to see if you want us to refer you to Carers Link Lancashire for additional support and help
  • Ensure that where needed you are given priority access to appointments and extra time with a clinician
  • Try to involve you in the health care and planning for the person you care for where confidentiality permits

Anything Else?

Carers Link Lancashire offer a wealth of free information and support to local carers. Visit www.carerslinklancashire.co.uk for more information.
